         Aston Villa

2) Your earliest memories of career?

        pre season training at everton as an apprentice run run run 

3) Best ground played at?

     Old Wembley 1994

4) Best player played against?

     Ian Rush at Liverpool

 5) Best player played with?

      God - Paul McGrath

6) Any funny stories memories etc?

   dalian and ron fighting in the shower at

   Chelsea

7) Plans for the future?

     no real plans got involved in some charity work at the moment 

8) What's the future hold for clubs you've played for?

     afc bournemouth,tranmere,carlisle,motherwell will always battle against finances ,hopefully the villa will become successful again and win swome silverware 

9) Who did u room with at all clubs?

    i didnt i roomed on my own as i smoked 

10) Who do you support?

       The Villa

11) Which team would you liked to of played for?

        I would of liked to of played in Italy or Spain

12) Most memorable game?

       Tranmere Semi Final 1994

13) Most memorable goal?

       Diving Header vs Tranmere

14) Any superstitions?

       3rd onto Pitch

Our Interview with Notts County's Stephen Hunt

 1) Which Club did you enjoy playing for the most ?

 I loved my days as a YTS at Southampton, as it was where my career began. Obviously Notts County are my club, I've been here 5 years

and I'm throughly enjoying my time. 

2) Your Earliest Memories of Career?
     Playing reserve team football with some top professionals, who achieved a lot in the game. Such as Mark Draper, Matthew Le tissier and Andrei Kanchelskis.

3) Best Ground played at ?

     Stadium Of Light - Sunderland.

4) Best Player played against ?
    Tugay at Blackburn.

 5) Best Player played with ?
     Matthew Le tissier and Andrei Kanchelskis. 

6) Any Funny Stories, Memories etc?
    Plenty, but they are too rude to print. 

7) Plans for the Future ?
     Hopefully keep playing league games and playing to the highest level i can until I'm 35. 

8) What's the Future hold for Clubs you've played for?
     Southampton are on their way back up now, Colchester have got their new ground, so they look stable. 

Hopefully there will be stability at Notts now after a few years of instability.

9) Who did You room with at all clubs ?
     At Colchester I roomed with Greg Halford. Too many to mention at Notts. 

10) Who do you Support ?
       Man United.

11) Which Team would you liked to of played for?
        Still got a few years left yet, so if Alex Ferguson is reading this give me a call. Would love to play for Man United. 

 12) Most Memorable Game?

       Cup run last season, 4th round replay against Wigan. Darlington away last season when we secured the      league 2 title.

13) Most Memorable Goal ?
      The game against Wigan, Scored the first goal, header from a corner to set us on the way to winning the game.

 14) Any Superstitions ?
       Always put right shinpad on, then left, then right sock, then left, then right boot... & wear the same pair of   socks to games.

Leicester Vs Southampton

Foxes and Saints

Leicester entertain the crowds at home for the third time this season (League Games), hopefully it will be a case of third time lucky.  Southampton arrives following an impressive start to their League campaign. Leicester on the other hand is looking for their first home win.

This will be the 77th time (All competitions) the teams have competed against each other, and the first time since March 2008. The 2007/2008 season witnessed three encounters between the clubs, two league matches and one FA Cup match. Southampton won all three. Leicester’s last victory over Southampton was 14 October 2006. Leicester won in front of a home crowd 3-2. Iain Hume (35, 62) and Richard Stearman (65) with goals, Leicester’s highest goal scorer against Southampton is a Mr Emile William Ivanhoe Heskey with a total of 4 goals.

The first encounter between the two clubs was Saturday 29th January 1898, it was an FA cup match at the Saints ground. They won 2-1 on that day. The first time we hosted the Saints was again in an FA Cup match, it was Saturday 14th January 1911, and The Foxes won that game 3-1.

The Foxes are leading the way with victories when playing at home. Saturday will be the 40th time we have hosted Southampton in all competitions. Of the previous 39 home encounters Leicester are leading the way, they have won 19 times, drawn on 9 and lost 11 times.



71 goals have been scored by the Foxes when hosting the Saints, averaging 1.82 goals a game. Southampton has only managed 1.33 goals per game when they visit.

The highest aggregate score was 8, Southampton 4 – 4 Leicester City this was 14th January 1967

The highest Leicester score was 5, Southampton 1 – 5 Leicester City this was 14th October 1967

The highest Southampton score was 6, Southampton 6 – 0 Leicester City this was 23rd October 1948

Carl Ziemann's Weekly Port Vale Blog ...

After last weekends first half routing of Accrington, Vale are starting to look like a well oiled outfit.

Make no mistake Vale werent firing on all cylinders and kamikaze defending from Accrington helped Vales cause, and everything we hit went in.

Sean Rigg is the man of the moment and is reveling in his opportunity to play in his favourite position as a central striker.

Riggy has had few opportunities to play up top but i saw first hand that he can do this role very well in an away game a few seasons ago against Grimsby. He and captain Marc Richards were outstanding together short interchanges mixed with good hold up play from Rico.

Whilst hes not in former Vale player Tony Naylors league, there is a similar bit of nippyness about Rigg.

Speaking of Marc Richards he will be back in training next week as he looks to build fotness and sharpness back after a disrupted pre season. But he faces a strong challenge to reclaim his place with Tom Pope also looking strong and now getting sharper with every game.

The return of Gareth Owen has helped to shore up the defence and a mention must go to Clayton McDonald who looks to be a monster of a center half and if he can settle down from the off field allegations he could prove another shrewd Adams signing.

I can only see one winner on Saturday and whilst Southend will pose a threat i feel Vale will be too powerful for them and should again run out comfortable winners by a good few goals.

Im plumping for a 3-0 home win and a clean sheet for an improving defence. As for the scorers dont be surprised to Riggy on the score sheet again!!
